D.E. Shaw, Bain and Company
When I first came to the college, I did not have any stellar expectations regarding placements. I feel very fortunate, however, that the placement cell has given me those opportunities which I had not imagined for myself until very recently. My perceptions have changed with time and I would nudge all those who feel the same way that I did, to keep their focus on the 'controllables'. You never know what could be waiting for you!
Bain and Company
Getting placed in the Dream company, Bain, is something that I had never expected! I was truly on cloud nine as a feeling of accomplishment and contentment took over me. Something that I learnt while going through the entire placement process is that ups and downs are a part of life; but at the end of the day, you will always get your due. I did not even clear the aptitude round for EY, but I was able to score both KPMG and Bain. So, never let your setbacks bring you down and always have confidence in your abilities.
McKinsey and Company
I always had good camaraderie with placement cell people. In our informal dialogues, we would often talk about the new companies the college can try to woo and get on board. However, when a giant like McKinsey actually came, the Ignite team was tight-lipped. They managed to keep it away from the lobbies till the very end. Cracking the test and interview was one of the most challenging tasks that I have undertaken throughout my university years. In fact, when I received the offer letter e-mail, I was deadpanned. It took me a few minutes to process the gala news. I am glad to be where I am than where I thought I should have been. I owe sincere gratitude to the members of the Placement Cell team who showed their faith in me and always motivated me at a personal and professional level, my friends, family and well-wishers. Saving best for the last, couldn't have happened without Him.
